Have Greater Confidence With NLP Sales Technique

By Ryan Camana

One of the presuppositions of NLP sales is to always operate from a physiology of excellence. This means if you want to be excellent at something then adopt the posture and attitude of those people that are excellent at doing said action. Seems simple enough. Now there is a lot more to actually modeling someone, say like a boxer or great salesperson, than their posture. But how about if I let you in on a little secret body position that ALL people naturally use when they experience victory. A simple gesture you can use when your frustrated and down on yourself. Or when you have negative internal dialog just ruining your day.

We'll get into the actual mechanics of the gesture in just a minute. First a little background as to how this was discovered and what it really means. In NLP there is a technique called a pattern interrupt. Of course it sounds complicated but really its quite simple. A pattern interrupt occurs any time you're doing something routine and that routine is interrupted. Lets say your driving to your office. You're thinking about what you need to get done that day. Running the same pattern you do every morning. Then out of no where a tree crashes down in front of you. This is where the magic of a pattern interrupt occurs. Your normal routine has been interrupted and you have the choice about how to react to the situation.

Or, you can decide, "My god! Think of what could have happened had I been a few seconds faster... I'm so grateful that I'm still alive. This is the best day ever.! I am so lucky."

At the occurrence of the pattern interrupt, your unconscious mind is requesting instructions from you. This is the time when you can make drastic changes to your thoughts.

"Please tell me what to do," your unconscious mind is begging.

Hopefully this idea resonates with you. That your unconscious mind runs patterns and programs. Fortunately for us it cannot make decisions on its own. The conscious mind has to come into play to make these decisions.

As I promised, let me give you that gesture that you can use anytime to get yourself into a positive state. I guarantee you've seen the gesture before. In fact, it is innate across all human cultures. I discovered this technique by reading an article in sciencedaily.com. The article discussed that even people who are blind from birth, and have never even see another person, use this gesture when they've achieved something great. It's called the fist pump. And I know you've done it before. Either you've thrown both fists in the air and shouted. Or you've pulled them back into your side. Whatever variation you use, it will instantly make your unconscious mind believe that you just succeeded at something great.

I use this pattern interrupt nlp technique all the time. Especially when I get frustrated at some sales presentation I'm working on. When I'm just burning with frustration I'll throw my fists in the air and shout "Yyeeessss!" It works every time. That gesture makes me feel like I just accomplished whatever it is I am working on. I've even done it in front of other people by acting like I'm stretching and screaming "Yeeaaahh" inside my head.

Use this technique in front of other people. You'll be shocked at how many people are attracted to you because of the winning attitude you will immediately exude. People always want to be around winners. If you throw your fists in the air as if you just won something, everyone assumes your a winner. - 29161
