Understand The Potential Negative Side Effects Of Creatine And Glutamine In The Metabolism

By Christian James

A lot of people want to improve their physique. It is common to find body builders and sportspeople that use supplements to boost their performance in as shorter time as possible. It is believed that these supplements can also prolong energy levels to produce more long workout routines. But before using them it is important to understand the potential negative side effects of creatine and glutamine, two of the most common ingredients in body building supplements.

Creatine has been used for many years in gyms up and down the country. It has properties that enhance body mass and muscle size. It can also shorten the time it takes to get back on your feet after a hard workout. But there are some known side effects that have been associated with creatine.

Creatine may cause the muscles to hold on to water, this can result in dehydration. Also, it is likely to lead to an overall weight gain, and not just in muscle tissue; this can happen as early as a few days after starting their use. There have been cases when people have experienced bloating, gas, and diarrhoea when they first began to take them.

You may find that people in your gym use glutamine to enhance their times. This is an amino acid that occurs naturally in the body. It is responsible for a better performance of muscle as well as helping the immune system to keep its defences strong. If you lead a busy life you may not eat well, by taking a supplement that contains glutamine you will find that your overall health is stronger.

If you do use glutamine and then work out or play sport you need to ensure you drink an adequate amount of water. Dehydration defeats the purpose of any exercise regime as its damaging to the body.

It is always best to use supplements for a few weeks at a time. It is easy to build up a dependency if left unchecked. - 29161
